Who provides this site

GuideHQ is provided by HEKNO LTD (company number SC895711), part of the HEKNO family.

What guides are, and are not

Guides are general information. They are written to be practical and are checked before publication, but they cannot account for your specific circumstances, your property, your equipment or the rules where you live.

• Nothing on GuideHQ is medical, legal, financial or professional advice, and it should not be used as a substitute for advice from someone qualified who can assess your situation.
• Where a guide says a job needs a registered or qualified professional, that is not a formality. Gas work, fixed electrical work and structural alterations are restricted in most countries for good reason.
• You are responsible for deciding whether to act on anything you read here, and for doing so safely and lawfully.

We take care to be accurate and we correct things when we find out they are wrong. We do not warrant that every guide is complete, current or error-free, and practices, products and regulations change. If you find an error, please tell us.

We aim to keep the site available but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, including individual guides, without notice.

Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
• Do not scrape or bulk-copy the catalogue. Normal reading, linking and quoting with attribution are welcome.
• Do not present our content as your own or republish it at scale without permission.

The guides, the structure of the site, the GuideHQ name and the HEKNO name are owned by us or our licensors. You may read, print and share links for your own use. You may quote short extracts with a clear credit and a link.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
