Questions people ask
Can I use one brand's battery on another brand's tool?
Not safely or reliably. Adapters exist but they bypass the communication between pack and tool that manages temperature and discharge. It is not worth the risk to either.
Is 12V enough for DIY?
For assembly, furniture, cabinets and light fixing, yes, and the tools are much lighter. For masonry drilling, decking or anything into hardwood, 18V is the sensible choice.
How long do tool batteries last?
Typically three to five years of domestic use, and it is driven by age and storage as much as by cycles. Heat is the main enemy.
